Donate to ASPEN

ASPEN is a non-profit volunteer organization, and without your support we cannot grow. ASPEN receives no outside funding, we are supported solely by our membership. All the chapter coordinators facilitating local groups and running and organizing conferences are volunteers. All donations to ASPEN are tax-exempt; please inquire at work if you have a giving campaign with matching funds.

  • Jason Stuart Memorial Fund

Our family tragically lost our son Jason, age 31, on June 17, 2010. Jason was an intelligent, kind person with a great sense of humor. He was deeply loved by his family and highly respected and liked by his colleagues in the legal profession. During his life he had had a variety of interests; bowling, professional sports (baseball and football fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles), reading (Russian and Chinese classics), chess and online strategy games. He also had many academic and professional accomplishments among them:

    • Phi Beta Kappa - Emory University
    • Honors Graduate - University of Michigan Law School
    • Member - New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York Bar Associations
    • Admission to the United States District Courts of New Jersey and New York

Jason was identified as a gifted student early in his school years and was successful in Little League and bowling. However, it was during that time we began to notice that he had few friends and was not as affectionate as he was during his early childhood. As parents we thought that he was just an introverted child that loved school. In 1995 Jason was evaluated at a leading hospital in Philadelphia and it was noted that he was a young man stuck in a cycle of social withdrawal and extreme stress from dissatisfaction with himself and the inability to meet the expectations of others. As a result of this evaluation Jason began a treatment program that included social skills and anxiety reducing techniques, relationship skills and medication to treat depression. Various doctors continued these treatments as Jason pursued his educational and professional pursuits.

Our family was blessed with a wonderful son and brother and we will cherish memories of him forever.

It is our hope that in honoring Jason's memory the Jason Stuart Memorial Fund will provide ASPEN funding to continue their educational, support and advocacy efforts.

  • Gina R. Orent and Larry Rosen Memorial Fund

Donations to this fund are used to support the outreach efforts of ASPEN.

This fund was founded in memory of Gina Orent, an ASPEN member and mother of an Autistic child passed away tragically at a young age. Gina had worked tirelssly to educate, advocate and obtain services and therapies to improve her son's quality of life. She then took what she had learned and experienced and shared it with other parents. Sadly just three weeks after Gina's death her dad, Larry Rosen, followed her, losing his long battle with Parkinson's Disease. In Gina and Larry's memory we continue the work Gina had begun-reaching out to other parents.
